Canadians urged to step up Pakistan flood relief

August 22, 2010; OTTAWA – Aid agencies hope the slow pace of Canadian donations to flood-stricken Pakistan will quicken with Ottawa’s decision to match relief funding.

Conservative House Leader John Baird announced Sunday the government will match dollar-for-dollar money donated to registered Canadian charities between Aug. 2 and Sept. 12 in addition to $33 million already committed by Ottawa to the flood relief.  See here for more.
